We were asked to provide efficient wireless network solution to increase coverage to a school’s vast communal and sports areas. The coverage needed to include the rugby field, tennis centre, hockey field as well as the athletics facility.
The longest reach was an access point mounted onto their tennis centre to cover their rugby field. We didn’t think it would cover the 306m distance but were pleasantly surprised when we tested it and found we had excellent signal at the end of the rugby field.
The details of the external Ruckus wireless solution included;
1. Field to the front of Tennis complex (Front) – 1 x Zoneflex T301 external AP to be mounted to the front of the Tennis complex and cabled in 1 x Cat5e to the Tennis complex cabinet.
2. Astro turf courts/pitches to the left of Tennis complex – 1 x Zoneflex T301 external AP to be mounted to the front of the Tennis complex and cabled in 2 x Cat5e to the Tennis complex cabinet (Extra Cat5e for possible future use).
3. External courts & large field to the rear of Tennis complex (Rugby/Cricket) – 1 x Zoneflex T301 external AP to be mounted to the rear of the Tennis complex and cabled in 1 x Cat5e to the Tennis complex cabinet.
4. Orchard Cricket field – 1 x Zoneflex T301 external AP to be mounted to the Henderson complex and cabled in 1 x Cat5e to the Henderson complex cabinet.
5. Athletics/Golf field – 1 x Zoneflex T301 external AP to be mounted to the “Changing rooms” and cabled in 2 x Cat5e across a new catenary wire from the DT Cabinet (Extra Cat5e for possible future use).
6. Overflow parking field – 1 x Zoneflex T301 external AP to be mounted to the side of the Facility hut and cabled in Cat5e to the Facilities cabinet.
7. Field to the front of Tennis complex (Rear) – 1 x Zoneflex T301 external AP to be mounted to the side of the Facility hut and cabled in Cat5e to the Facilities cabinet.
