We were appointed to deliver a full infrastructure and CCTV fit-out for the new-build TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) Centre at Salmons Brook School.
The objective was to create a secure, fully connected, and future-ready learning environment, supporting both staff and students with reliable network connectivity, modern AV solutions, and robust surveillance.
Our team provided the supply, installation, and commissioning of a complete infrastructure solution, including:
Installation of 9 x 4MP Hikvision ColorVu dome cameras for internal coverage
Installation of 7 x 4MP Hikvision ColorVu bullet cameras for external monitoring
(2 external cameras at the front of the building were omitted from the final scope as we advised that they would not be needed)
Deployment of a 32-channel Hikvision NVR with 16TB storage, ensuring high-quality recording and long-term retention
This system delivers high-definition, full-colour surveillance, enhancing safety and visibility across the site.
Installation of 70 x Cat6 network points, supporting:
CCTV system (16 cameras)
Wireless access points (4 APs)
General network connectivity (40 outlets)
Door access/control systems (10 doors)
All cabling was carefully routed to align with the building design:
Basket containment (installed by others) used across the rear of the building
Flexible conduit installed for low-level outlets, connecting into high-level dado trunking
High-level routes installed via fire alarm tray and purling to reach final positions.
This approach ensured a clean, efficient, and scalable network infrastructure.
Installation of a 9U wall-mounted data cabinet, complete with a 6-way PDU
Deployment of 2 x 60m OM4 steel-taped armoured fibre cables, linking the new TVET centre to the school’s main server room
Termination into 8-port LC fibre panels at both ends
This provides a high-speed, resilient backbone connection, enabling seamless integration with the wider school network.
These screens deliver enhanced teaching capabilities, supporting interactive and engaging classroom experiences.
The completed installation provides Salmons Brook School with a fully integrated technology solution that supports both learning and operational needs.
